overloaded?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI feel like my brain doesn't work like it used to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a phrase I hear often from immigrant and expatriate mothers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why do many report forgetting where they put their keys, entering a room and not remembering what they went for, having difficulty concentrating, feeling their thinking is slower, and feeling tired, even after a full night's sleep?.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, most people believe this is just a natural consequence of motherhood, aging, or the stress of immigration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But there is another possibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe the problem isn't a lack of discipline, a lack of organization, or a lack of willpower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, maybe your body is trying to function without the biological rhythm it was designed to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The human body functions in cycles<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We live in a culture that values constant productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why we often try to do the same number of tasks every day, regardless of our energy level, schedule, or our body's needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But biologically, we weren't designed to function that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Precisely because the human body operates through natural rhythms known as circadian rhythms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These cycles regulate fundamental functions such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sea and vigil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hormone production<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digestion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Body temperature<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Memory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Concentration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Humor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Immune system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Metabolism<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, there's literally an internal clock coordinating thousands of processes within the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When this watch functions properly, we feel more energetic, mentally clear, and emotionally balanced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This way, when it is constantly interrupted, symptoms begin to emerge that we often consider \u201cnormal.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The cost of living against your biological clock<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For many immigrant mothers, the daily routine can be an endless succession of responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many don't have family nearby.<br>Lack of a support network.<br>No time to rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a result, the days pass in survival mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We slept later than we should have.<br>We eat at irregular times.<br>We skip meals.<br>We spend hours in front of screens.<br>We live in a constant state of alert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Still, the body can compensate for this for some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But eventually he starts sending signals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the most common are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Persistent fatigue<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brain fog<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Memory failures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anxiety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Irritability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digestive changes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Difficulty concentrating<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Binge eating<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chronic inflammation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feeling constantly tired but unable to relax<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These symptoms are not defects of the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, they are messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens while you sleep?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent years, science has discovered something fascinating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During deep sleep, the brain activates a system known as the glymphatic system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This system works like a cleaning crew, removing metabolic waste and substances that accumulate throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, the brain literally performs a \u201cclean-up\u201d while we sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, during sleep, fundamental processes occur for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Memory consolidation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hormonal regulation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical recovery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emotional balance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, when we regularly sleep late or have fragmented sleep, these processes are compromised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thus, the result appears the next day in the form of forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating, mental slowness, and fatigue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" Traditional Chinese Medicine teach us about the body&#x27;s cycles?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long before circadian rhythm studies existed, Traditional Chinese Medicine already observed that the body's energy follows predictable cycles over a 24-hour period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This knowledge is known as the Chinese Medicine Organ Clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to this theory, vital energy (Qi) circulates through different energetic systems at specific times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thus, each organ has a period of approximately two hours when its energetic activity is most intense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lungs: 3 AM to 5 AM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Large Intestine: 5 AM to 7 AM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stomach: 7 AM to 9 AM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spleen-Pancreas: 9 AM to 11 AM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heart: 11 AM to 1 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Small Intestine: 1 PM to 3 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bladder: 3 PM to 5 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Range: 5 PM to 7 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pericardium: 7 PM to 9 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Triple Heater: 9 PM to 11 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gallbladder: 11 PM to 1 AM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liver: 1 AM to 3 AM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, from the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the hours between 11 PM and 3 AM are especially important for the body's regeneration and restoration processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because it is precisely during this period that the body should be in deep sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, when we repeatedly stay awake during these hours, we interfere with important physical and emotional recovery processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Routine is not just organization<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many women see routine as a productivity tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But maybe routine is something much more important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since it's a form of communication with the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, when we create relatively consistent schedules for sleeping, waking, eating, and resting, we send a message of safety to the nervous system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because the body stops living in a constant state of adaptation and can direct energy to repair, regeneration, and balance functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This doesn't mean living rigidly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quite the contrary, it means respecting human biology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Small changes that help regulate your biological clock<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don't have to change your whole life at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start with small steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Try to sleep and wake up at similar times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expose yourself to natural light in the morning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eat meals at more consistent times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce screen time before bed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take breaks throughout the day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prioritize rest as part of health care, not as a reward for productivity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A body that has rhythm functions better<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may not be becoming forgetful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe I'm not getting lazy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Much less that I am losing the ability to cope with life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps your body is just trying to remind you of something that nature has always known:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Health flourishes when we live in harmony with our rhythms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because
